Fellowship

Whether it is a potluck meal, packing Thanksgiving baskets, setting up for Vacation Bible School, or other congregational activity, we enjoy getting together and sharing in the fellowship of Christ.  Along with being together, our fellowship involves being about God’s will.  So, let us practice fellowship as naturally as those on the first Pentecost, such that the wisdom of God may be made known through His church.

Children

Luke 18:15-17 – [Let the Children Come to Me] Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”

We welcome children of all ages.  They are a gift from God!  We have a number of opportunities for children and youth.  These include Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Junior Youth, youth activities and more.

Nusery

Peace Lutheran Church provides a Nursery room in the education wing of our building.  The Nursery room is not staffed, but it is open for those times that may be useful for families with children. The Nursery room is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays to support both worship services and the Sunday School period.

Together In Mission

Together In Mission invites congregations, groups and organizations to partner with LCMS missionaries serving around the world. By partnering with missionaries in their global ministry each LCMS member has the opportunity to journey with them and share God’s Word with all the nations. – from LCMS.org

We at Peace sponsor J.P. Cima and his family in Vietnam.  You can follow their adventures on their web site.

Operation Christmas Child

Each year, we enjoy filling and providing the shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child (OCC).  OCC is organized by Samaritan’s Purse.  Every shoebox gift is an excellent resource for evangelism and discipleship which leads to the multiplication of new believers and churches around the world.  Find out more at the Samaritan’s Purse web site.

Thurman Brisben Center

Four times a year, we prepare and serve meals at the Thurman Brisben Center.  It is a great opportunity to share Christ and fellowship together and with others.  The Brisben Center is the greater community’s largest full service, year-round, residential emergency homeless shelter.  Find out more about the work of the Brisben Center at their web site.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Each November, we work with King George Social Services to provide food assistance for families for their Thanksgiving meal.  As we give thanks to God for our country and all that He provides, we strive to share with others, both for their physical and spiritual needs.

Christmas Gifts

In partnership with King George Social Services, we provide gifts for children and families for their Christmas celebration.  We strive to share and proclaim the Gospel of Christ with this opportunity to help others in their celebration of Christ’s birth, which is the greatest gift ever given.
